How Can You Charge A Cordless Drill Battery Without a Charger?

If you end up in this unfortunate situation there still is an option available. You can use another battery from one of your tools as a power source and get the job done this way. Alternatively, if you have a Li-Ion battery, you can also charge it using a USB port. Most batteries have such a port and after you have found it and plugged the cable, just connect it to another device with a USB port that has power (computer or laptop, for example).

How to Use A Cordless Drill?

Now that we have got the cord out of way, using a tool is far easier and quicker. It works exactly like a corded driller just without the cable getting caught into things and limiting your movement. You can use it with either hand by wrapping around the handle and using your finger on the trigger. Squeeze gently at first to get an idea of how powerful your tool is. Look at the top of your tool and you will see speeds to select. Try with the lowest and work your way up while trying to recall how far screws go in. The higher the setting on torque, the further the drill will be driving. Practice and you will soon know exactly what power setting to use for each job.

How Long To Cordless Drill Batteries Last?

It really depends on the model and the voltage of the batteries. Here are a few tips in order to maximize your battery lifespan. Always keep the drill battery charged and make sure it has finished charging when you take it out. Most batteries on the market right now last between three to five years – even more if you take good care of them. Keep them charged, use the tool as much as possible. Make sure you do not overcharge and store them properly.

How to Store Cordless Drill Batteries?

You can keep the battery on the drill without any issues whatsoever. All you have to do is make sure you do not leave your tool in a damp location. Do not forget it charging overnight as this will greatly damage batteries. Have them stored in cool places with no humidity. Depending on the model of your drill you can use bags that came with the batteries for safe keeping.

What to Do with Your Old Cordless Drill?

If your tool is still working and it’s in good condition you can attempt to sell it on your local markets as there is still high demand even for second-hand drills. However, if you still want to keep it around, we have some great suggestions to find a purpose for your old tool. Use it to clean hard-to-reach places around your household. Just add a brush at the end of the tool and you are good to go. If you have a suction cup around you could cool your beer in no longer than 30 seconds. Just drill the beer can in water with ice and the beer will be chilled very fast. Enjoy!

Recently I'v bought DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Drill and I would like to say guys, l'll never go back to corded drills. The pair of months ago I had to attach roughly 40 2ft wide, 20 ft long plastic panels and had to purchase my new DEWALT for the job. The drill comes with 2 batteries, which I fully charged before my project. I had no any problem at all with it. No doubt corded tools are good If you usually work in your shop (like me for example))) or house with access to electricity. Yes in this case maybe it'is good choice. But in case when you work outside and use cheap Chinese device it's truly nightmare to charge the batteries constantly and wait.
